Ways to attach ID tags to collars

I am looking for options on how to attach the dogs tags to their collars other than split rings. My roommate has a habit of not paying attention when she attaches their leashes and puts it on the split ring instead of the collar ring. One pull and the ring gives. Thankfully she has been able to find the tags each time but I've had to replace 5 rings in the past 2 months.

I've got Rubits for both my boys, they've held up well, though I've not tried clipping the leash to them either. You might also try the heavier duty split rings that they use for keychains.

I haven't tried this one yet but I thought it was a cool idea. I'll probably buy Rolex one when I finally buy a tag for him :p I was interested when I saw it because I'm constantly changing collars but I wanted something more secure than some of the other tag holders I have seen.

I have had 2 bad experiences with the rubitclip-- lost my tags both times. The first time I lost them for good, and had to replace license, rabies and the expensive name tag I had made for him. The second time, I decided to just clip the expensive NEW name tag to the rubitclip (because I really liked the design of the clip)- and again, the clip came undone after a session of rough play between dogs.

Fortunately, someone found the tag in the grass and called me- I got it back!

So, for me---no more rubitclip; back to the good old fashioned split ring.

I have put all of Sadie's tags on the clip that comes on lanyards. That way it is easy on and of as needed. I take them of when we are inside so I don't have to hear all the jingle, and clip them on when we go places or let her outside.

I had that problem with the Tagnabit or whatever it was called (NOT the same thing moonglow listed). I think it lasted all of a couple hours before I realized how badly it was made. I've not had any issues with the Rubit and its been on their collars for almost 6 months. On the other hand I'll admit that I've not done alot of collar switching so its not really worn out the spring either.

Really, ok. I know there's some cities nearby that require registration but I don't know for sure whether the tag has to be worn at all times or not.

Ours do to, if the dog is outside the owners property it has to be wearing the tags. Now I do believe that AC will accept the owner carring the tags while accompaning the dog, but they don't legally have to.
