Okay here are my zombie book recommendations for JamieHalverson, Boxergirl, sjdavenport and anyone else who is an avid reader and loves fiction.1. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey.
This is a stand alone book and is simply amazing. If you haven't read it yet then it is well well worth the read. Even if you aren't into zombies.
2. The Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant. The order of the books written below to make it easier.
Feed by Mira Grant (first book in the series)
Deadline by Mira Grant (second book in the series)
Blackout by Mira Grant (third book in the series) - I am currently working on this one and am pretty sad that I'm almost done with the series.
This series is a pretty quick and easy read (shorter books). But, they are so well researched and so well done it makes me feel like it could really happen. Like it's real. Incredible world building.
3. The Forrest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan - This is the first book in a series. I have only read the first one so far. I wouldn't rank it as high as the above mentioned books but it is still very interesting and a fun read.
And here is a non-zombie recommendation just because it is amazing and one of my favorite parts in the book is the dog. Since we are all dog lovers some of you might enjoy this if you haven't come across it yet.
4. The Chaos Walking Books by Patrick Ness. This is another trilogy
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (book 1 in the series)
The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness (book 2 in the series)
Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness (book 3 in the series)
I think some of the above are actually considered Young Adult reads. But, in my opinion good writing is good writing and a good story is a good story.
