Okay...at first I thought she was just giving me attitude, you know, "You're just watching TV (boring) and I'm going up to bed until you come to your senses." So, I just blew it off for the first few times, but then it continued. She didn't want to sit with the family any more. She'd greet people coming home and as soon as the pets were over...back upstairs to my bed.
Note: it isn't just to my/our bed, but, more importantly, it's into my side...my spot. I have my spot and she has her spot. When I wrecked my knee, I tried to sleep on her side, but she was determined to have it back, so, this affinity for my spot is a message to me.
Okay, so this is about a month now of this odd behaviour, but everything else seems normal. Her poops are really good, which is a great improvement because we've gone through the loose stools and boiled rice and lean ground beef on many occasions. She gets one long walk a day (sometimes 2, if I have a day off.) She plays and wants to play with us and has been increasingly bringing us her new toys for a bit of tug. She doesn't appear to be in pain (but with dogs it is hard to tell.) She still loves eating grass, and I've started a pot for her inside under the grow light, and I still help her forage for the good stuff while we can still find it.
Nothing else seems out of sorts. She plays...she poops...she eats...she very actively mooches. She loves going to the dog park, though she is less active...less running, more sniffing and socializing. Her food hasn't changed, good Acana kibble, which she grazes on (rarely gobbles a whole bowl), she gets roast and chicken and steak and lean ground beef. I cook these for her from scratch, no spices, per se. The chicken is from Metro every Tuesday and she gets four or five meals from it (sometimes she shares with Mommy.) She likes sweet potato, and cucumbers, and grass...lovely, long, succulent grass. Outside of this she gets her Dentastik and her marrow bones and her basted milk bones...some plain milk bones, too. And cheese! Oh, yes, she loves cheese, but she doesn't get it every day...maybe three times a week. Once a week, if she's lucky, she gets a bully stick. So, nothing has changed.
Sorry for making this so long, but I've been mulling every aspect of her life over. I've even considered how much politics we watch. Jon yells at the TV some times, and I yell at him to stop yelling so I can hear. Maybe she's just worn out from our interest in the midterms.
I'm working a little more, maybe that? Oh...my friend next door stopped walking her dog with us (sad for her housebound pup, but I can't handle him to give him a walk...too leash aggressive.) Some times I have him over so that they can visit. This is a mixed blessing because she doesn't like sharing her toys.
Ideas? Solutions? Help? She had her wellness check up with the doctor and there were no issues that they saw...they didn't even yell at me about her being at least 7-10 lbs overweight. She weighs 132 right now.
