What vacuum do you use?

With 3 dogs and 2 kids I vacuum sometimes 2-4 Times a day. I need a vacuum that can hold up and last me a few years. I've had a few that say for pets but sucks. I have a shark and I've already replaced it once and looks like I'm in need of another one. Is there actually a vacuum out there that is worth it when it comes to pet hair? It would be amazing If I could find one that is worth it and can keep up with the demand of my family. :-(

I use a shop vac. I have all hardwood downstairs. But they do make an attachment for carpets. I have been thru so many vacs I was sick of it and went to a shop vac. Best move EVER

Best vac EVER. Legos not picked up not a problem!! HAHAHA

Two dogs (one a TM), two cats (one a Siberian), and two long-haired humans. We use one of the Dyson Ball models, and love it. We've only had it three years, I"ll admit, but its showing no signs of slowing down.

I believe that BSCC also uses a shop vac.

they actually make a house one now. I just have a standard 12 gallon one. I wanted the bigger house cause I hate when stuff gets stuck in the hose.

Saw those, I like the idea of the tangle free heads. We do periodically have to cut loose the long human hair that collects around the brush on ours.

I have been looking at the Orek or any type of industrial style vacuum. I have been using the bagless kind for many years, but it just does not do it with a super shedding mastiff and a long hair cat......

I hope to say away from one that takes a bag. I've had many vacuums and have yet to have one that can last. I think I might try the Dyson.

I swear by the dyson if you have animals, i have had a dc24 that i got at a yard sale for like half the price because the bearing in the brush roller was going. Well it went on me a couple years ago and i have had a bitch of a time finding parts in canada, had to finally brake down and purchase from the states, it will be here in a couple weeks, talk about procrastination lol only because my faithfull ol electrolux beater bar head broke, so i had no choice but to buy the parts.

Also before i bought the dyson, i bought my vacuums at costco, they have an awesome return policy, i was buying dirt devil uprights and after a year and a half of use the piece broke that holds it upright so i took it back and they gave me a brand new one, i did it about 3 times and they replaced no questions asked, i had issues each time with the dirt devil, so i went with the dyson and will never look back.

dyson DC25 = 1 BM puppy (7 months , 1 yorkie, 2 cats (down from 3), 1 guinea pig, 5 fish, 1 middle school boy (down from 2 kids, 1 now in college) and 2 adults (sometimes) for primarily wood/tile with some carpet. Recently bought a dyson max that hangs on the wall in the kitchen for "light" quick jobs.

I have the shark navigator pro. I love it. I have 4 dogs and part hardwood and part carpet. Never gets plugged up, and does a great job.

I'm on my second shark. Mine don't seem to last long. I'm over the shark. Very disappointed in it.

I love my Dyson. It is the only vacuum that can handle Taffy's fur. We managed to burn out the motors of 2 different vacuums before she was 1. Remarkable the power of a cat.
