Which Dog has the best natural guard temperament when correctly bred?

What is the best of the molossers for guarding for someone (like myself lol) that doesn't necessarily want something as intense as a Fila, or a CO but still wants some level of guarding instinct.

I was considering a Corso but I couldn't find any local breeders and their temperaments can be so all over the place that this being my first molosser, I didn't feel I had the experience it would take to get the right temperament for me especially in a puppy.

Gonna have to agree with Brad this is a very subjective subject and a little silly

I think everyone agreed right off the bat it was open to ones interpretation and specific needs. I certainly dont need to own every breed to comment on the breed I own. Which is the only breed I have commented on. If that breed is the best for you, then that makes fila the best, for you. Maybe not for him or them but for you. If there is any mis information in here then correct that. If there is not then carry on.

I agree with Chuckorlando.
While topics like this one are always very subjective, simply because different people have different needs and have different views on what makes a good guardian, I didn't feel anyone was exaggerating as one might expect from such topics.
Most posters only commented on breeds they have either owned/still own or on breeds they have worked with/had some kind of experience with at some point.

For me what matters the most is that everyone in this topic agreed a buyer has to do his/hers homework and visit the breeder in person first so they can better determine if a breed is going to fit well within their lifestyle.
It was mentioned buyer has to make sure a breeder is ethical, health tests and focuses on the functionality of their breeding stock. And to remember to be weary of breeds being hyped up on the internet.
So I think this is a great message for any novice owners interested in naturally protective breeds that come across this topic.

@Chaser17, thank you very much

Its a shame to see some of our naturally bred "guard dogs" being bred to nothing better than over sized "apartment" ideal dogs... (moreless couch ornaments). In paticular in the U.S farms/ranches are being reduced in sizes. And urban spread, starting to plague rural parts of what use to be strictly farm country, I have a strong feeling the need for the "use to be used for dogs" could be needed again. I know I do on my small 25 acre place, once surrounded by other ranches/farm, now have divided properties with "new model" homes, and even a couple of "trailer parks" have popped up close by.

Needless to say within the last 20 years, population around me has increased, but in the same amount of time, my favorite breed has lost value in the natural aspects of their working abilities. it seems since the days of internet networking, that value has dropped through the roof, and possibly to no return. I am a third generation BM enthusiast, My grandfather bred them, and were trained for farm work, and was his lines that worked the local Prison/work release inmates in the great lumberjack days. Back then the network of finding what you are looking for was word of mouth, or in snail mail news letter, and was even like that till my early-mid twenties. It was easy to find breeders of a particular breed that had the traits you are looking for.

None offense taken I said something and you called me on it what's there to be offended about. Lol that was interesting first question yes I have seen the Indian mastiff I speak of I was born and partly raised in India. I have footage of some puppies and nice adolescent male that is nowhere on the net, I can post it if you don't believe me.Before I say anything else I don't condone or do dog fighting at all. Now your comment about CO's rarely being used to fight is an opinion so I can't do much about that as I am entitled to mine that CO's are used more just rarely. There are plenty of YouTube videos of them doing exactly that along with kangals. Heck there was even a website dedicated to dogfighting done In Central Asia. Now I can't tell you if they were FCI registered or not since I don't know them personally. I was researching central Asian breeds and one thing led to another and I came across it. I'm sure if I dig deep enough I can find that for you as well. Lol I never said I was an expert in anything you $#@!umed it, when you say your an expert to me t means you know everything you to know about it and i still have a long way to go there is never enough information the nore the better. All I said that on the norm ALabai or CAO's make great guardian dog. ALabai USA has some great ones that I like the look of and they have plenty of temperament videos to prove their claim. And I came across one when I was walking my shepherd and he nearly bit my face off. I apologize if I said anything offensive as that was not my intention.
Hello tojvan, I see that you like AlabaiUSA videos? I can not agree more with MountainDogs. DO NOT believe everything you see on the internet. Also, be VERY skeptical if you ever go for a visit. Some breeders will lie and what you see you might not always get... I purchased a puppy from AlabaiUSA. I also liked their videos and I went and visited their dogs. Everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, I wanted a powerful guardian CAS so bad that I chose to ignore the red flags. First and foremost, they do absolutely NO genetic testing. Their dogs are so healthy that they need no testing. They will lie and cover up their sick puppies. They will only give you references of people that are happy with what they've got (duh) and will NOT admit they have produced genetically defective dogs. They will lie to the prospective buyers and say their dogs are health tested but provide no proof when asked. Unfortunately, many people will not know what to ask and will believe that their dogs are healthy. They will communicate with you as long as you have good reports on your dog but will turn against you as soon as you tell them you have a health issue with your puppy. The puppy I got from them was diagnosed with moderate bilateral hip dysplasia and grade II elbow dysplasia at 7 months of age. At 2 years of age he was diagnosed with Cystinuria, another genetic disease that affects the transport of certain amino acids in renal tubules and causes stones to form in the bladder. My dog required a surgery and is on this insanely expensive and very difficult to get medication 3 times per day for the rest of his probably very short life.As far as the temperament videos....they are staged and edited. Their dogs are trained. Yep, by the same trainer who trained my dog...The trainer told me that one female wouldn't even bite at first (she learned to later). The male, he said, would run away and not fight as soon as he was off leash.My puppy...well he was sold as a guardian but unfortunately he is a "poodle". He loves people and he loves dogs. I trained him for 2 years. Two different PP trainers, many different decoys, different locations and situations. It took him a while but he finally DID learn how to bite. However, he only learned to bite trainers and decoys. He is happy to let anyone in the house, he does not guard the back yard nor he cares much about anything when we go hiking. NO amount of training can turn this dog into a true guard dog. However, he does perform great at training. He will bite, and bark and rip the sleeve off. He is a good barker at night but lacks courage and spooks easily.
