Whining phase..??

My Corso pup seems to be very vocal now about 5 months. She'll sit right in front of me and whine or bark. For the most part I think its her wanting the usual things(food, water, out, play) but sometimes when I know she can't need anything she'll still do it. Maybe because she knows it'll get her attention? I'm not sure. Is it normal? Should I correct her when I know she doesn't need something and I think she's doing it for attention.

I always try to ignore them when they whine for attention. Over time the amount they whine has decreased but they do find other ways to try to get your attention.

unless you plan to be jumping to their command for the rest of their lives I recommend ignoring anything that you don't believe to be genuine. An "alert" bark that someone's coming should get a response, but a bark cause they're bored or just want attention should be ignored. Its a judgement call....
