Why can't I paste a link in the text box?

I am trying to share an article about dog park and nothing happens when I try to paste into this box. I've tried Ctrl+V, right click, and the Clipboard button above.

I had that problem in IE... when I go to Chrome, it pastes just fine.

I think if you click on the "A/A" button in the top-left of the post box (where I'm typing right now), you switch into "Source mode" and then it might work in IE, too.
