Brinks
Well-Known Member
Hi- it's been some time since I posted but I'm needing some thoughts on this.
Today when we pulled into our driveway (around 3pm), I saw that the blinds were askew in our large picture window. It was odd because I typically leave the blinds 1/4 up to let Brinks (our 5 yr old EM, 185lbs) look out the window. (He likes to sit with his face on the window ledge & his butt in the chair). After going inside and inspecting the blinds, I noticed Brinks had JUMPED on the window (slobber and paw prints were visible but dry so it wasn't "fresh"). We also noticed that Brinks ran right outside and was sniffing/inspecting the front gate. It's NOT like him to behave this way- he has NEVER jumped on the window. He never jumps at all, even for a treat!
We live pretty far out into the country that we don't think it was an intruder (if it was they obviously left after seeing Brinks jump all over the window) but possibly deer who have become brave enough this year to travel up our driveway.
Either way, we are concerned that Brinks could have broken through the glass. My husband thinks we should leave the blinds closed completely so Brinks can't see outside but I fear that might make him anxious. We have delivery people and a dog walker who comes and goes with no problem (Brinks knows them) but if he can't see them approaching the door, would he react like this again?
What would you do? Close the blinds? Keep them open and hope it doesn't happen again?
After inspecting the gate Brinks didn't behave oddly or different. Maybe this was just a fluke? Looking forward to thoughts and others experiences.
