  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Wow how unexpected! Neo attacks.

I feel horrid that the child was injured, but I've seen more incidents than I can count of children (some of them quite young!) deliberetly taunting dogs, and of course when the dog finally can't take it any more, or the child escaltes to doing something like throwing things at the dog, its NEVER the child's fault (or their parents!) the blame is ALWAYS put on the dog.

Nothing so far seems to indicate what kind of fence the dog was behind, but if he had gotten out before like the one says then yes the owner should be liable cause he should have made sure the dog couldn't get out too.

This makes me sad. I agree that the dog owner is at fault. Considering there were other reports, etc, I do think the owner should face some sort of assualt charge. Owning a dog comes with a responsibility. If you know there are issues yuo fix them or you remove the dog from the situation. The dog never should have been in that situation. I am glad the owner got bit too.

I don't think it is fair to say that a 5 year old cannot walk down the street with a 16 year old relative. I think we should be able to feel safe on our streets.

Hopefully this won't make people reactionary and create laws like BSL, etc.

I agree this is all very sad, and more disturbing that the dog will be put down and that will be the end of it. I think the owner should face charges of negligence. Even if the penalty is just a fine, I would hope that this would set an example and deter other people from being so irresponsible.

Unfortunately, it won't deter anyone and there will still be irresponsible pet owners.

I think after repeated complaints, reports, etc, the punishment should be more than a fine. Maybe that would deter people.

If an owner has had repeated official warnings/tickets for allowing a dog to run loose, and that dog gets loose AGAIN and injures or kills a human, I'd LOVE to see the owner brought up on charges of assault or even manslaughter (note the requirements for multiple offenses and that the dog gets LOOSE, not the same thing if someone enters a property that the dog is supposed to be guarding). But then I think anyone who allows a dog to run loose should be fined for anything after a first offence, no exceptions.

I've just got to much experience as to how some of these kids treat these dogs to look at this sort of thing without wondering what the kid did.....

The two parties that I don't believe can be blamed are the little girl and the dog. Both were likely just being what they are a child and a dog. The owner is at fault for not ensuring that both her dog and people were safe. Depending on what actually happened, I don't think we will ever be told the 'true' story, the parents of both girls may also be at fault for not teaching and enforcing proper behavior towards dogs. Just my opinion.
