Boss is adorable! I'm not sure how to train him to bark to potty. Some members hang bells by the door and their pups will knock the bell. Others have posted that their pups will bark to go out. Others said their dogs stand by door, like Titan will do. Sometimes Titan will start pacing.

Once you get to know your pup better, you will know his cues to want to go potty, as well as other things.

We use the bells. Works great. We just rang them ourselves every time before opening the door to carry her out. Then we'd put her down just inside the door, tap the bells on her nose to make them ring, then open the door and let her walk out. Then, we started asking her to "ring the bells" on her own before we'd open the door to let her out. And one day she tapped them when we weren't looking - and we came RUNNING to let her out with lots of praise. She hasn't stopped ringing them since... sometimes just to see us come running... but mostly of the time because she needs (or wants) to go out.

To get him to bark to go potty, I think you'd first need to teach him "speak"... which is easier if you can trigger a bark with something... maybe he starts barking in excitement during play? Then you can "capture" the bark with a word (i.e. "speak"). Once he has that association down, you could do the same thing as we did with the bells... ask for a "speak" before you open the door - every time, until he starts to do it before you ask.

Good luck!
That's one cute puppy!!
