Menace had his 1st group class this weekend. This follows once a week private lessons.
There were around a dozen dogs, most full grown, he was the youngest dog there. There were dogs that were working on issues, like dog aggression and some that had fear of people. We mostly worked on distraction and helping socialize those dogs.
We did a lot of heeling, weaving in and out of the dogs sitting in a line. So, the last dog would weave up to the front, then sit and then the next one would go, etc, etc. The trainer took Menace 1st to show me what to do and see if he was ready. He did perfect his 1st time! Neither dog, the dog heeling or the dog sitting was supposed to try to have contact with the other dog. Then we did walking heel and extended sits, etc. I was so proud of him. He did better than most dogs there.
He got tired and hot and laid down a few times, instead of stting (which I don't correct when it is 80 degress). The trainer said he looked entirely comfortable. I am glad I can see our hard work paying off!
