We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Aggression

Things are still going well. Last night she had a relapse and picked a fight with our lab, no injuries. My brother in law is visiting, and I felt that his desire for her to play combined with his permissiveness (not dog savvy) kind of caused her to backslide a bit in terms of our behaviour progress. But we're still super positive about the entire thing.

I might bite too if you put those on my head. ;)

Yes she is dark and yes they seem to stop light at times, other times they will shine like black glass.

She's a beautiful dog. I LOVE the color. Glad to hear the new training methods seem to be working out.

We have had great success, to the point where our old bitchy lab feels comfortable snarling at the BB without fear of an attack, and we are so grateful. However we've hit another hurdle-at one time I had hoped to train my BB up to be a therapy dog. HA HA HA. Fool, (me) she doesn't like to be touched by strangers. Ok fine, I get it. She is VERY choosy that way.

She is on leash all the time except for a small section of beach for dog use. Today she jumped up on a teen passing by-it's intimidating, she barks at strangers sometimes and sort of side lunges into them We don't know if it's play or aggression, but it's unacceptable. Normally I correct her, she goes into the down position, I apologise for my giant dog being terrifying. Today the teen's mom accused my dog of biting, which she did not-I was there-and the teen immediately said "No, she didn't bite" but instead of handling the situation like an adult I kind of lost my cool and swore at her, then she started yelling at me and my BB barked at her, I'm sure terrifying her even further. I put the leash back on, and apologised, since I escalated things by losing my temper (you don't make a false bite accusation to someone with a big dog that's a death sentence! but still wrong that I reacted with anger. Don't get angry in front of your BB, they don't like it) . She called the police, and took off. I waited for them to show up, then went on a walk around the trail. I just missed them, and I'm sure a dangerous dog designation. But the facts are this :my dog sometimes jumps at strangers, sex and height make no difference. Is this because she wants to protect? She does love to be chased, particularly by strangers-when she has done this before we make her go into a time out in down, apologise, then allow the person to meet with her and all is fine. We keep her on leash on the trail now for her sake and it's the right choice. I've got another session planned with trainer...

What are your experiences? Does this sound like an aggressive dog? I swear, SWEAR to you I have spend a shit ton of time and money socializing and training, so where am I failing? Or is this just the BB way? She does not like to be approached on the leash by strange anything, and she is easily spooked on the leash too. I'm sure it's because she can't run away. Off leash she is big bitch boss pants who has no problems giving other dogs the whale eye, she won't back down.
