I was amazed by this list. It is inaccurate, ie., Corsos are Italian Mastiff, as many of you have noted AND it just isn't reflected in my personal subjective experience. I'm sporting the scars from 28 stitches needed to close my head when I was three years old. I nearly lost my right eye. It was a Border Collie that did that damage, a purebred, fully intact, highly intelligent Border Collie.
I've been treed by Danes, chased by mutts of indeterminate parentage, and had to take alternate routes home from delivering newspapers just to avoid certain psycho pets and parents. That's the point! Crazy and Fearful pet parents make crazy and fearful dogs. All dogs will bite.
Two weeks ago my daughter and her dog were attacked by a golden retriever that was wearing a leash but there was no owner in sight. Bella protected her mom. Rotweiller vs Golden Retriever, guess who won?
The sad part, it looked like the Retriever was set on our Bella just for entertainment. The owner appeared out of a nearby house, but not until his dog was in need of a vet. No apology, just a sneer. And to Bella's credit she let go when her mom told her to. Bailey and I vote Bella to be an Honorary Mastiff!
