umm, really? You quoted me with the answer to your question right in there..." using instruments made to measure pressure". I dont know how else I can say it. Oh, they also had cameras recording the entire thing... so video footage as well as the instrument used to measure pressure (when the dog bites down)... you cant ask for better proof than that.
Yeah, really. I wanted to make sure if you're talking about that funny video where they picked 5 dogs out of 5 breeds. The one where they measured some dogs while holding them still and some dogs while jumping - this one, right? And lets not forget the part where a wolf did a defensive bite and now everyone thinks their dogs have stronger bites than wolves LOL. For the record a wolf can reach up to 1500 lbs bite force and I'm not even talking about an alpha male here. And you think this is an accurate representation of a dog's bite force? Just because it has the NG stamp on it doesn't automatically mean its "proof". How do you know the dogs were giving their full? And I still don't understand why you blame kangal owners for not measuring their dogs. Blame NG. Why didn't they bring a Kangal there? They are the ones supposed to seek the unbiased truth, aren't they?
If you want real, scientific proof, bring me 20 dogs from each breed. All dogs must be at the same age and the same sex. All dogs must bite from the same angle and the same position. All dogs must be trained from puppies and have maximum developped jaw and bite. All dogs must have similiarly aggressive parents and heritage. All dogs must be KILLERS. Only when you have a killer dog you know it bites to kill. Not to hold you down. Not to scare you. Not because it will receive praise and treats from its owner. To kill you. You can't measure an average dog, because you can't be sure if it's playing around or biting for real. With a killer dog you can be much more certain that it will bite you as hard as it can, especially if it perceives you as a deadly threat. I'll buy the "expensive piece of machinery". You bring me the dogs. Hell, I'll buy myself a plane ticket and come to you directly if you manage to pull this off lol.
And even then, this experiment will mean absolutely nothing, because there are different types of dog bites. Some do more damages than others, some have more bite surface, some can hold the bite better than others. In the end it will be:
1) A waste of time.
2) A waste of money.
3) A waste of animals.
Which is why nobody bothers and nobody cares about bite force. NG did something that would intrigue the viewers for half an hour. They didn't claim it was universal truth. And if a turtle can have 1000lbs bite and a wolf 1500lbs, why not a dog? They used dogs in arenas against lions. Think about that for a second. One last thing.
with the 1000lbs of force 40lb pittie....yea, I dont believe it either.
Except the Kangal can reach 200lbs and 95 cm and there's no ground to compare it with a pittie. Go to youtube and type 90cm Kangal or 94cm. Which is why apbt owners say their dogs are best "pound for pound". At least the ones that know what they are talking about.
