Boerboels aging

Greetings all,

New to this forum but not to this terrific breed. I have been out of the boerboel scene for nearly 10 years so my knowledge is a bit dated. I recently lost my 91/2 year old male( a Grassland boy) to arthritis and was wondering about the breeds current longevity. Are there more dogs making to 10 ten years and older now? My wife and I are devastated by the loss of our Angus and would consider another boerboel if there are lines that seem to be producing longer living dogs.

Thanks for your time,
Lance

Really a shame with all these large breed mastiffs and their short life cycles.
They are such wonderful dogs.

The Mizpah line is long lived.
Mizpah Bakkop (Bekki) passed at 14 years old last fall and has a son who is 12/13.
I am checking to see if he is still alive as well.
