Cane Corso Food

We have had Tank on Royal Canin Large Breed Development for puppies since we got him at 16 weeks. Unfortunately Royal Canin decided to stop making that line of food and force to buy their retail store quality food. With the other food, he ate heartedly, and since the change, not the same. Ingredients are not quite the same although Royal Canin said it was. He has started to break out with a few pimples under his chin, which is said to be due to allergies among Cane Corso's.
My question is, .....IF..... it is food related, and not pollen or grass or something else.....what is the better dietary foods out there for this breed. I know in their history that these dogs rarely ate grain filled foods, and googling online the common foods that keep coming up is Blue Wilderness salmon protein food and Acana Large Breed puppy grain free. Is there a problem giving a grain free diet or is it better to go with grain filled foods.?
Any insight on best food diets for Cane Corso would be appreciated as online information and depending which vet you talk to, can be very contradicting.
Thanks in advance.

Are his pimples just under his chin, if so that can just be from when hes sniffing, especially if your in areas where thistles ect grow, also can simply be from food and water bowls, mine have to have sterel bowls..
His food, his age he could be just slowing down, he will have growth spirts when he will eat more again, a lot of ccs mine included seem to get intolerant to chicken based foods, im in the uk, iv not used any of the foods youve mentioned, i did try a salmon but mine didnt do well.
If you could tell me where your from i will try and look whats similar to what i feed.
Your boy is stunning. Enjoy
