I'm not even sure how it works out with $ and £ but I get minced tripe and chicken all pre weighed, bagged and bone ratios told for 50p a lb.
Oh and I'm getting a head for £1

Ok I just talked to a butcher and I think some better prices. I'm in Kentucky but not in the country ...surprisingly ;). I can get beef heart for $1.99/lb, beef kidney for $2.29/lb, beef liver for $1.29/lb, whole chickens for $1.49/lb (on sale from 2.19 and about 3-3.5lbs), I can get a 40lb case of chx quarters and thighs for .69/lb and he currently has 3-4 cases of 70ish lbs each of frozen chickens he would sell me for .69/lb and lastly, he has ground beef at 1.69/lb that he sells from like the day before and is sitting on 400 lbs. what do you guys think? It seems a lot better than what I had found originally plus meatier items. I need a chest freezer in a serious way. He said he sells to other raw feeders :)

All of those are great prices except for the kidney and since you don't have to feed a lot of it, who cares. If it were me I would jump all over the frozen chickens and the ground beef. The heart, liver, and leg quarters are good prices but you should be able to find it fairly often for that. (at least in Texas).

If you are going to buy a freezer, try to get an upright. I know you're a young one but your back will thank you 20 years from now.

I can get with that...I'm a physical therapist and bought a home with a first floor master for my knees and Oscars hips Hahahahaha ;). I thought those sounded great! So pumped...now off to freezer hunt! I'm thinking scratch and dent haha

Actually, the beef liver is a pretty good price but remember organs are only 10% of their diet. You don't want to fill up your freezer space. Believe me, even after you buy a freezer space will always be an issue. Especially, if you can afford to stock up when you find cheap meats. Like the ground beef and whole chickens.

So in theory...I could do 70lbs of chicken, maybe 50lbs ground beef (that seems like he always has at that price...he said some lady buys 200lbs every 4 weeks), 10lbs of liver and 10lbs of heart and maybe 5lbs kidney for under or around $200? That would last me a bit yea? Assuming I feed 4 lbs per day

That should last you over a month. I would make sure that is the regular price for the ground beef. If it is on special I would get more. Beef is the most expensive of the 4 proteins that I rotate. I grab it anytime I can get it for under 2.00.

In the beginning you are going to be feeding mostly chicken and will add organ meat around week 3 and in small amounts. Instead of kidney you might want to do extra chicken. Sounds like you have a good plan.

Most definitely do scratch and dent or even used, until you are sure you want to stick with feeding raw.
