I didn't want to hijack Kbuchanan66's thread so I'd thought I'd make another regarding just diet plans in general. Have a plan you tried post it here :) The new years resolution isn't up yet.

Haha Kris sounds good to me, why must you tease me. The only thing I can have is chicken and veggies. Not horrible but I'd love to drool over some pizza!

Yuck! My diet is....Anything yummy! I am typing this with one hand in a bag of BBQ Fritos. LOL The loaded chicken and potatoes is a new recipe I found. I made it few weeks ago and loved it so I am making it again but definitely a high calorie meal, epecially since I make homemade bread with it. :-/

Once upon a time I was a skinny minnie but now that I am over 40, I have passed those beautiful days. I would like to lose 10 - 15 pounds but I just really like food. I am 5'8 and 138 pounds which is a bit heavy and I do think about it but I guess it isn't bad enough to make the changes just yet. I understand the craving for comfort food. I cook A LOT, am addicted to homemade bread (which I make a couple times a week) and if you can add cheese and bacon (Loaded chicken is topped with Bacon, Fiesta cheese and green onions when it is finished) I am in! Oh, And mashed potatoes and gravy go with everything in my world! :)

Before Kris teases me anymore to finish up from the other topic. I"m doing the HCG diet, take a hormone that reset's your metabolism to burn excess fat while eating VLCD. You go in phases, Phase 1 or P1 is detox (optional), P2 is the low calorie diet VLCD, P3 is a protein and fat portion, and in P4 you add carbs and maintain.

You can take the HCG by injection or under the tongue. Rounds can range from 23 days, 40 days, and 90 days. There is no rebound and you actually lose FAT not muscle or any other vital tissue. You can do as many rounds as you need to reach your goal or just do one long round.

I'm going to be 28 this year, and I always said I wanted to keep things in check. I've never been over weight, but I'd like to stay on the lean side since I hear weight gets harder to remove as you age lol. I haven't been much of a cooker at home and when I say cooker I mean from scratch not box or frozen. However in my later years I find myself cooking at home more which is good but I cook the "bad" things. If I can get back down to 130 again I'll be happy, I'm 5'3 BTW.

Ah man homemade bread recipe please? Then I'll have to buy me a bread maker.

Ok if your not careful I might need to start hating you. I can't remember the last time I was under 140 and I'm 5'6". Add the fact that you got a Harl Dane. Sigh, I don't know.
Loaded chicken sounds a lot like a recipe that I found a few years called Anniversary Chicken. Just need to add a sauce comprised of ranch salad dressing and teriyaki sauce. So good!

I lost 10% (19 lbs) in 2012 on the Medifast diet... but the soy based powdered foods just make me sick now... so, I have some extra packages if anyone wants to try it! The food isn't bad, I just have a low-grade soy sensitivity that can't handle all meals all the time with soy. Their veggie stew is actually pretty good with Franks RedHot in it (I'd put that shit on anything).

I've been stagnant at 180-ish for a while now... I'm intermittent fasting (no breakfast until noon), but also plan on doing the 5+2 diet/fast plan: 5 days of "normal" eating (~2400 calories) and 2 days of "fasting" (~500 calories total for the day). I still need to make my plan and get the junk food out of the house though. I can ignore chocolate, but not the tortilla chips we have right now...

And with football season comes tailgate season. My husband puts on a humdinger of a tailgate (UW Huskies)... our first home game will be a seafood boil, so at least that won't be too bad for the waistline (unless I have some buttery garlic bread with my seafood....). Of course, the extra beverages don't help, either... If I can hold at 180 until 1/1/2014, I'll be happy! (and I'm 5'6", too)

I'm really wanting to try HCG. Everything I've read just makes me want to try it more & more. I can commit easier to diets/workout plans when I am at home & ideally would like to shed at least 20 lbs before thanksgiving. When I visit my dad I do a LOT of walking. Last year I dropped 28 lbs in 4.5 months just counting calories & walking 4 miles a day 6 days a week. I am basically doing the same thing now except I have yoga on Monday nights & I would really like to incorporate some kind of weight training. I have a set of 5 & 8 lb hand weights that I've been doing some arm exercises with.

I've tried so many diets, I've lost count. I'm very leery of the HCG diet but to each his own. I finally decided to count calories and attempt to keep them at 1500-1800 per day. I also do free weights 4 times a week and core exercises 3-4 times a week. I walk with Titan every morning for 20-30 minutes, depending on temp. Once cool weather hits, we will walk twice a day for 30-45 minutes.

I've struggled with my weight my entire life and I read a book about women accepting their bodies. Can't remember the title right now. It basically stated that women need to consider their age, their diet history and their genetics when trying to make themselves into the "perfect model's body" which only exists in about 5% (guesstimate) of the female population. The book is written by a psychologist.

I forgot to mention that I quit smoking 3 years ago and replaced the nicotine addiction with a sugar addiction which I am slowly move away from sugar. Ice cream is my fav addiction. I now allow myself to have whatever I want to eat on Sunday. Well, at least I'm attempting to keep it to one day. It's a slow process to rid myself of the sugar addiction because today, all of our foods have processed sugar except fruits, veggies and meat.

During the week, most of my diet is veggies and fruit with occasional meat.

What screwed me up was my metabolism basically disappeared around 19-20. I've never really thought I was fat until last year. Now I constantly think about my weight. Just finding the motivation is the hardest part. I always thought if I can workout for 14 days, I'll form a new habit. I'm 6 days in so we'll see lol

I'm not a big fan of "diets" as most are only temporary. I lift heavy 35+lbs or more and run on the threadmill, but I could never get the results I wanted. Even after nearly 4 months of religious exercise and healthy eating, it was like I was shaping the fat haha! I tried lowering and increasing calories, I tried almost every diet imaginable with the same disappointing results.

The first time I tried HCG I went from a size 8/6 to a size 2/4 in less than two months. Even when I started eating whole foods I continued to lose inches. I did not lose weight but lost FAT. I would thought the HCG was just another whacked diet had I not tried it myself. I've only been on the diet for three days now and I can tell something is going on with my body.

All you gotta do is go dig some holes or a ditch, cut down some trees, mend a few fences.... It's a math equation yea? Burn more then you consume. You can eat all the cake you want if you work hard enough. I also suspect the un natural foods of today might play a roll in making it harder to burn off. Diets are torture that last 24hr a day for ever where as hard work can be done with much less money"save or make money doing the right work",much less time, much less thought, and much higher success rate.

Totally agree Chuck but I'm not into digging a ditch, cutting down trees or mending a few fences. hehehehehehe

Yes, basic math. Exercise/move more than the calories you eat. That's easier said that done for me.

It's usually easy for men to loose weight but for most women, it's a life long struggle. Blame it on our moms/dads who fed us McDonald's and Fruit Loops. hehehehehehe

You dont need to do manual labor. You just need to be working out side in the sun. Wash the car and detail it at about 1pm and stretch it to 3pm. Walk the dogs a few miles. I'm sorry, I like my pop tarts to much..... That aint even a joke. This is when you fall back on the pro vs con list. PRO bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, cheese, grits, biscuits, and gravey. CON have to work hard.

Well that sum's up all I needed to hear
