  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Does your EM wear a jacket or coat when its cold? If so, what kind is it?

We keep our house pretty cool in the winter and I want my EMs to be comfortable outside when winter hits and we walk etc. I am looking for easy-on and easy-off coats/jackets for them. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

No. I admit I've never tried one. Kryten loves the cold and I don't think he'd be happy if I tried to make him wear a jacket.

We have a rain coat and a 'cape' style jacket, but so far, haven't had to put them on.
Just hit freezing for the first time last night. Then the sun came out - it may only be 35F, but it's sunny... so, of course Denna's out napping in the yard. :)

We also use the Chilly Dog brand. The first time we put it on Caesar, he froze in place and wouldn't move - totally freaked out. He let me put it on, but then was paralyzed by fear of the unknown. So I used the 'move his mind forward' method and fed him treats - first right in front of him, then each treat I would move just a little bit away and eventually got him to walk forward while he was wearing the jacket. When I took it off, I let him smell it and gave him lots of verbal praise with a couple more treats!

It took a little bit to get used to, but then I think he was reluctantly grateful he had it. We're in the Canadian Prairies so for six months it can be anywhere from 0 to -60C (32 to -76F) so a winter jacket is not an option where we live.
