  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Done with basic training...now what?

I've been working on "focus" with Kujo, so far we've had very good results. I've been holding the treat (the real object of his focus lol) away from my body and then using the focus command, once he looks at me I give the treat. Once this is solid I'm going to try the focused heel. And then training sessions outside the dog park with all those distractions! It's a long road ahead, but I'm determined to have a well behaved dog :)

QUESTION: in the focus videos, you were using a treat that looked like a hand lotion, what was that!? Can I make it??

Oh, and I put the collar back on and almost instantly he started coughing, I'm not sure he gets that if he stops pulling he'll stop coughing, but we're working on it. I still use the harness for our dog park days, it also makes it much easier to get him out of the car, just grab the harness with one hand and his belly with the other hand! I'll definitely be having the bf make him a car step!

It might be worth having the vet check his throat next time your in, if he's having that much trouble with it.

Maybe use the collar and harness together, with a coupler?

Yeah, I was thinking about combining the harness and collar for now...we also have a "no pull" harness, supposedly it applies pressure in his arm pits when he pulls and supposed to stop the pull almost immediately. Tried it, I hate the design, but it sort of works, I'm really not sold on this one in particular but I know there's lots of designs to chose from. Anyone used one of the "no pull" harnesses and had success? My real goal here is to get the focused heel down (using a collar), then switch to a harness permanently, I'm sure I'll end up with a massive collection of leather and hemp and who knows what else!
