Emma's Growth Thread

Seems to be helping already. We are also almost finished transitioning to TOTW kibble from what the breeder was feeding. I'm sure by the time we are done with the transition and pumpkin she will be fine.

Yesterday she jumped from the couch to the ottoman which was a little over her body length away. When she is awake she is all go..... then crash, out like a light. lol

At 9 weeks she is 13.1 lbs.

Things I learned the last two weeks:
I learned that even though I'm tiny, I can make it up and down stairs.... slowly.
I learned that while my brother and sister look like dogs... they don't like to play like dogs. :(
I learned that the air conditioner is not going to attack me when it kicks on and I'm outside.
I learned that I can jump longer than my body length going from the couch to the ottoman.
I learned there is a great big world out there and exploring is fun.
I learned there are tiny mean little things in the grass that are not fun (fire ants) :(
Mom will do anything to help me potty train (holding an umbrella over me in the latest Texas monsoon season)

Things Mom wants me to keep working on

looking at her when she says Emma
knowing where to go potty... when ya gotta go you gotta go!!
I can go in the doggie door when I have had enough of the back yard, but I still have to decide I want to go OUT. (she is still pretty small for our doggie door, I think she is a genius for having tried it already.)
Mom and dad are not chew toys, teeth on skin or clothes will get me in trouble.

It continues to amaze me how quickly they change and learn at this age. She is a gem!

She is so very cute. I'm glad to see her weight because my smallest girl is about the same. She's the runt and 7 lbs smaller than her sister, but they are both on the smaller side for an EM.

Thanks, I think she is adorable but I"m biased. :) Emma is a bullmastiff so she will be smaller than an EM. Daisy was my EM and she was the runt of the litter, hence the name, delicate petite flower. She grew into a monster tho.

I would love for my pups to prove everyone wrong. I'm switching their food to a better quality and hope that helps. Mine are both 15 weeks plus a few days and one is 31lbs and the runt is just at 25lbs. Very small for the standard. But the vet said slow steady growth is better for this breed so I'm just gonna keep doing what's working.

Emma went for her second round of puppy shots yesterday. 10.4 weeks and on the vet scale she was 18.8 lbs.

when she first came home at 7.1 weeks she could lay along the short side of her crate. Now I don't think she will fit in it for another month.

Oh my! Emma is so precious! I think you got you a live one there and the older she gets the more she will get into. LOL I love the list of things she has learned and it sounds to me like she is growing nicely and building her confidence rather quickly. When I see her sweet face, I want another puppy but then I snap back into reality and realize that I really don't want the puppy stage at all for all of its cuteness, it sure is a lot of work.

I tell Magnum all of the time that he permanently broke me of puppy fever. :)

My hubs has stated several times since she came home he forgot what it was like having a puppy. :) Good thing she is so stinkin cute. LOL
