I am fostering a mastiff/saint bernard cross. She is still new to the household, but last night she started showing a behaviour that has me concerned.
I was lying in bed watching a movie when Jabroni come onto the bed and went to sleep between my feet. This is a very common thing that my own dogs do. They all sleep with me in my room or on my bed with me.
I guess Sonja wan't too thrilled about that so she just stood over him giving a strange look. It kind of looked like she didn't want him there. I pushed her away so she wouldn't be over him and told her to lie down beside the bed and ignored her. Another thing is, she does not show this behaviour when my beagles are with me on the bed, only to the bassets she acts like this.
Is this typical behaviour from a dog that does not want to share human company? If so, how should I handle a situation like this? I don't want her to think that she is in charge of my pack.
