Hmm, I'll look at them, I was kinda wanting to avoid a true vine, cause I don't want it growing up the other plants in the planter....

Raspberries......not really. Most of the berry vines are essentially voracious weeds and will re-grow from even the tiniest pieces. I saw the suggestion to take a sandwich baggie, and fill it with liquid brush killer, cut (fresh cut!) the end off of a vine, place the end inside the bag in the liquid, and twist tie it into place. Repeat every few feet down the row, when they finally appear to be dead carefully dig up the base and scratch it, if its green the plant is still alive, repeat on another stalk, if its brown its dead, dig it up getting as much of the roots as possible and put in the trash, do not compost or mow in.....

I will try that, I've been trying to kill them for years. I have about 25 ft worth of those stupid things wasting space in my backyard. Thank you Ruth!

lol! Might use the 3oz version come fall, but for this, it works like a mini greenhouse, which is really what I need right now.

I have strawberries! My tomato and pepper plants so far are puney, and my watermelon plants don't seem happy.

I've decided I'm going to put strawberries in as the drapey plant in the giant tire.

My pepper plants are puny too. I don't know what I did wrong. Pumpkin plants are happy though!

I have never planted pepper plants before and I'm wondering if I planted them too early. I thought about pumpkins, maybe will still try! The strawberries have been easy, I covered them with a layer of pine shavings, the fine flaked kind you use in animal cages, and it seems to have made them pretty happy, they are blooming and producing berries like crazy!

I haven't even put the peppers outside yet, they're still in pots inside under lights (and no, the pots aren't to small, I did double check). I think I did something wrong though, cause I lost half of the pepper seedlings when I transplanted them into pots. I may just transplant them out and see what happens.....

All of my pepper seedlings lived and are outdoors, they are now about 8 inches tall and have stopped growing!

we're getting a late start on our garden due to being unable to get compost due to time and etc. But, we're finally getting our compost delivered to us this saturday! SO EXCITED! We'll have to use starts instead of seeds cause we're pretty late in the game. Also...found a great deal: 1.5 yards of manure compost + delivery = $88!!! Pretty damn good deal if you ask me!

Here's the plan as for what we'll be growing:

Corn
Tomatoes
Yellow Onions
Green Onions
Garlic (wont be able to harvest until next year)
Lettuce (a few varieties)
Carrots
Asparagus (hopefully)
Beans
Radishes

Our bed gets A LOT of sun and it's huge! any thoughts as to what else we should grow?
