Gemma has a mucus discharge in her urine

So the past few days Gemma has had a little mucus or discharge in her urine, she's a 5 and a half month old cane corso. It happened a few times and we will be taking her to the vet but we are in New York and currently dealing with hurricane sandy! Once she's gone we will go to the vet and have Gemma checked Out. Just curious what other people thought. Also we noticed a bit of blood in it once or twice and we thought maybe she was getting her first heat, which we know is early but still possible and it was only a small amount of blood.

I would have it checked. I'm never comfortable with blood in urine. Is she swollen. I don't know about CC's but 5 months seems young to me.

If you have a regular vet I would at least try to get a call into them. Once the storm passes I would get her to the vet ASAP. My GUESS would be an UTI, not something that will kill overnight but something I wouldn't let linger any longer than I had to.

Hopefully others will chime in.

Sound like uti. In the meantime, you can wipe her with unscented baby wipes or just water and soft toilette tissue. Does she have soft stool at all? There could also be bacteria from her stool that gets too close to her va-jay-jay and cause irritation.
