  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Guess the breed (or what am I crossed with)

Found a dog with some controversy behind it. I think I know what it is but though I would throw it up here to see what you all think since we have several owners of the types I think this is.

Looks like he has some DDB in him--- especially the second photo. His gait and body type seem very Bordeaux to me.

Dogue de Bordeaux and American Bulldog...? That's my guess.

Some of us are guessing BM, Neo and DDB. Here is a comparison of what he claims it to be.

BTW both dogs are right about 200lbs. So lab may be out. The second dog is a well known Boerboel that died from a Mamba snake bite.

See, I see Olde English Bulldog, Labrador Retriever, Neapolitan Mastiff and English Mastiff mix. Look at this English Bulldog, Labrador Retriever mix.

Wow that could be the original dogs close cousin. The second one I posted is suposed to be pure Boerboel. The first one is also claiming to be a pure Boerboel. I have recently read some interesting history on the BB concerning what is known as the ysterberg line. Ysterberg was breeding a mix of Old English Mastiff, Bullmastiff, Old English Bulldog, Bullterrier and even some Tosa. Then the hunt for the perfect BB begain and Ysterberg (Klass) did not originally participate. When Klaas passed away the Ysterberg bloodline was inherited by Stoffel Bloem who also did not like the way the breed standard was set so he went back to breeding the Ysterberg Mastiff. Many people call the Yrsterberg a Boerboel and many breed lines have Ysterberg in them. The ones that have a heavy Ysterberg ancesrty seem to produce these Ysterberg Mastiff looking like dogs. Which in my opinion are not what is comforming to the set standard of the BB. Even my Jade has Ysterberg in her lines dating way back in the late 1980's.
