What a nasty page. Seriously? I hate dog breeders? Talk about ignorance. I truly believe in rescuing animals of course and have so much respect for the people that do but for some of us, it isn't the right choice. I have three small grandchildren and my son (21 years old who lives with me) is disabled and I have to KNOW what I am getting and I need to do the training and have the dogs grow up around everyone. I alsways had APBT's prior to this but I bought them from reputable breeders and raised them the way I needed to. Taking a chance on a half/full grown dog is not an option for me. Either way, The hate should be towards the people who put those dogs into these shelters, not breeders. Reputable breeders don't have thier puppies showing up in shelters and such as a rule.

I tend to tune out whenever some one uses vegetarianism as an example of how they love animals. I have nothing against anyone who choses that but I live in ranching country.

Yikes. Definitely uber-extreme.

Anyone who promotes hate is part of the problem.

Why can't we promote responsible breeding and responsible ownership instead???

See, now that's just ignorant ... there's as big a difference between puppy mills (mass-producing sick/disabled pups for uneducated masses at a premium price thereby flooding shelters with unwanted and surplus animals) and legit breeders as there is between a dude selling suspiciously priced electronics out of the back of his Honda and a Radio Shack. To blanket all animal breeders with the accusations that really only belong to millers and BYBers is seriously irresponsible.
I don't like seeing full shelters either (which is why all my animals are adopted) but at least I know where to pin the blame.

Oh ya, all of my comments did.
And of course punching ppl there.
They delete anything that they disagree with, yet call breeders Nazi's.
Is sad the level of ignorance and refusal to open their minds to other possibilities. The number one reason that animals are in shelters is POOR OWNERSHIP. that is it that is all!

Kudos to all of you that posted and tried to get through to these people. IMO, people like that can't be reasoned with, you will never change their minds. They have such a narrow minded viewpoint and are not capable of an open minded conversation.

I briefly looked at it, seems like it's a one sided argument. Much like talking to a brick wall. It's not responsible breeders that end up with dogs or pups in shelters. From what I've learned in this forum is that a responsible breeder will take a pup back if the person that bought the pup can no longer care for it. I say why waste time on small minded people that will never listen to the other side of the argument? I've dismissed a few people from my life that are most likely apart of that page because they just assume all breeders are bad & there's no saying otherwise.

I could not believe that they were calling those that have to euthanize at shelters, murderers! When I stated that the murderers were those who were irresponsible pet owners and money hungry puppy millers/bybs they flipped!I then stated I would not feel safe bringing an adult Fila in my home from a shelter or rescue with my active 2 yro son.It went crazy from there. For people trying to get others to believe and join their cause they have piss poor attitudes and are dumbasses.

This is a common thing Among animal rights people, I know I've been in to animal rights sense I was 16 and haven't eaten meat sense then. What I've never understood is many of these animal rights people seem to think all breeding is some sort of backyard breeding where people sell their puppies for 500$ and continuosly breed the female over and over. Almost more looking for a reason to argue then facts, Not to mention these are often the people who support PETA( the company who was killing pitbulls and cats, because they "couldn't be adopted out") This is the absolute worst part about animal rights. IGNORANCE.

PETA was/is killing a lot more then pitbulls and cats.
They have the highest kill shelter.
I believe it is only a single digit percentage of animals who get adopted out and a percentage in the nineties that hey euthanize.
Ingrid Newkirik is a scary scary woman
Here is her views and propaganda on no kill shelters;
