Hello everyone,

My wife and I will be getting our first Corso pup in late Jan, early Feb. After doing extensive research we found an excellent breeder and are beyond excited to introduce a Cane Corso to our family (me,wife and 2 cats). I look forward to learning as much as possible from you guys and sharing our experience. Thanks

AJ

Hi and welcome to the board! Our corsi are NYers turned Canucks :) Be warned these guys are highly addictive! Do you mind us asking where you are getting your new addition from?

Thanks guys! I have not stopped reading, watching and listening about this breed. Im a little worried about the addiction lol. Im in lower Westchester County but I am getting her from Casanova Cane Corso near Rochester. Mmyrto: Do you have any recommendations for ear cropping in the area? Preferably laser. Thanks for the welcome!

I think I have seen some pics of Casanova's dogs :) Congrats on the new addition. Your breeder might have some recommendations on ear cropping vets (she might even be willing to have the puppy done at the same time as her's if you are willing to leave the puppy a little longer), a lot of breeders actual do the ears before the puppies leave them that way the ears are done by their vet and someone they know will do them correctly. If not I can check with my breeder to see who does her's, she has a vet friend that did the ears on a puppy I sent down and they turned out well but it isn't her routine vet.

Thanks everyone. @BlackShadowCaneCorso : That would be great. The dam of the litter is BluSteel's Not A Mirage and the sire is Della Nevaia's Palermo di Peretti. Both beautiful, well tempered dogs. And Jessica from Casanova has made the process so far a very enjoyable one. She has answered my million questions without hesitation and being this is our first Corsi, it means alot.

I live on long island and my girl got her ears cropped before I got her. I believe it was done in east setauket. I would contact your breeder if they are local and find out where they get them done and or if they will have themdone before you get her. Be careful because not all vets know how to crop. My best advice is wait to here back from Blackshadow because the kennel where she got her dogs from are amazing and the ears are perfect, if your breeder doesnt have any suggestions!!!! Good luck!!

Welcome to the forum and the addictive world of Corso ownership!
Congrats on your new baby! Palermo Is a nice male, takes after his daddy Fuoco!
Can't wait to see your pics :D
There are plenty of breeders in your area, most I am sure will be willing to give you info on vets they use.
I would look at some pictures of dogs at kennels around you and when you find the crop you like talk to the breeder :)
Good luck!
