Fill gallon jugs with water but leave the top off, you will need a couple of jugs. Let them sit a day or 2 before filling his water bowl always keep a jug or 2 full so you have aired out water for him. letting the water sit will allow the chlorine and other chems to dissapate. I would invest in an under the sink water purifyer or a add to the tap one, heck even one of those big jug ones you fill up and the water trickles down into a pitcher would work. Eventually he will get used to the city water.
He really is a good lookin pup too.

So feeding time! i poured some food on his bowl he took a sniff and lick and walks away. then i tried placing the bowl higherbut it didn't work. I started placing the kibble on the floor and he was too chill and relax while eating, he'd forget his eating. If kibble went fly across the floor he'd crawl to it unless its too far. So for now he's still hand fed and I can't be doing that everytime :(

Try something high value like a little hamburger raw or boiled, mixed with his kibble. Once he eats that from his bowl he should get over the whole new home bowl thing.

Ah yes DM but then you run the very real risk of creating a fussy eater. Dogs will not starve themselves, he will figure it out eventually and eat if he is hungry enough. I suggest trying a plate or pie tin, other than that I would also say maybe stop stressing? Put his food down, leave him in the room with his meal and walk away. Take it up after half an hour and dont give him anything until the next meal. He will not starve I promise. I think stressing about it isnt helping you and if he is picking up on you being worried then he will be too. If you chill and start this feeding routine he will soon learn.

I have a fussy eater in my Irish Setter x, it is common in that breed. I have found that adding a tablespoon of wet food as a topper is enough to get him to eat, another trick is to add a little hot water. The water will make a gravy and heat increases the aroma of the food. I understand your concern and frustration It took me 4 types of food to find one that Jiggers was willing to eat not heavily doctored and I have come to realize that he likely will never choose to eat plain kibble.
I don't have experience with a dog that doesn't want to drink but I have heard that mixing in a little bit of a low sodium broth to flavor the water can help.

He didn't eat supper. I switched out his food from 25% of blue buffalo to 25% innova grain free with his iams puppy food tthat he's used to. He only had treats the whole day since he barely ate breakfast. I left him and his food in his room for about 30mins but he decided to go to sleep instead. I know I'm prolly stressing out but who wouldn't be? I've had him for 5days and he havnt ate mch at all. I know he's not gonna starve himself but hopefully he eats soon! Ill keep y'all posted

have you tried mixing a bit of milk in to a small amount of food on just a small plate, we had problems with gypsy eating to start she was free fed by the breeder this meant she would only tack small amounts at a time, the only thing she would eat well was trip, we mixed a small amount in her dry at tea, which she wolfed down i know raw and dry should not he mixed in the same meal, but if it gets them to start eating then not eating will do more harm, she eats fine now its worth a try, if you try the milk only do small amount if it hot the milk will sour quick,

At this point I would set out the food and not give him any treats at all. Then just forget about it. He will eat when he gets hungry. If he doesn't eat in a day then it's time to consult a vet.

Well he eats but not in his bowl or any plate. Only eats when hand fed or when it's on the floor. He didn't even want to touch the kibble that was on the floor that's sitting literally next to his bowl. I can tell his getting skinny ribs are starting to show. I know it's not the food. He rarely drinks water. I added milk in it but I feel like he doesn't drink enough. Hopefully tonight he'll eat! This morning he did the same. Just sniffed it until his nose touched his bowl then walks away. We have his last vet check on Tuesday. But I might have to go sooner if this still persist.

You are doing the right things then. It looks like you have tried other bowls too. Did you try a metal one yet? How about just set some kibble on a paper bag and see if he eats it.

Yea it's on a metal one right now. Ill try that tonight if he don't. Or maybe start raw feeding him also since he basically fast for more than 12hrs

RAW sounds good. My dogs love there kibble (Taste of the Wild) but they know if I skimp on any meat and let me know by hunting the kitchen after the meal.

He started eating! Nothing ordinary poured his kibble on his stainless bowl and just placed the bowl ontop of a newspaper. I just let him be and it takes him awhile to actually eat. He stares & sniff walk around and stares sniff and eat. Lol he's doing good now! Thanks for everyone's response! Def going to be on this forum for awhile. :)

He actually knows its chow time! Lol I still can't get him to finish his food though unless I spread it on the floor. But I'm glad he's eating and drinking outta his bowl. We just had his 12week vet check and he weighs 37lbs. He's getting big!!
