I think Kryten may be sensitive to all types of poultry

I started feeding him Wellness Large Breed Puppy which has chicken and he had diarrhea. He got a handful of a turkey based kibble that a friends dog gets when it was dropped and that was the worst gas ever. The food I feed now has two flavors that are appropriate salmon and duck. Went thru 5 bags of the salmon and then switched to the duck and he got very soft but still formed stools. Switched back to the salmon and they got firm again after 1 day. His sensitivities and dietary limitations are making it difficult to find one food that both dogs will eat and do good on. Boohoo.

I know exactly what you are going through. Sadie is allergic to all birds and it sure does make it hard to find food. I am in the transition from Castor & pollux to Earthborn. I feel your pain!!

Might it have less to do with sensitivities and more to do with quickly changing diets? Especially with the turkey ... just a handful of a different kind of food would certainly give Oscar gas too, but that doesn't mean he couldn't adapt to it if given the chance. I'd be surprised if the duck was causing problems, it's usually to go-to allergy friendly protein. When we had a food-allergic BM, we ended up putting her on a venison-based kibble that she did really well on.

I can agree with the turkey but he was on the duck formula for a month and had definitely started to follow the same pattern that led to the diarrhea with the chicken based food. Started out firm and seemed to get softer day by day. I like the salmon the only problem is that Jiggers is very finicky (breed typical) and didn't want to eat it anymore. I want to be able to feed them the same thing, for my convenience, but if I end up having to change to separate foods to keep both stomachs happy that's what I'll end up doing.

Its definetly possible. Arty tolerates small amounts of poultry (ie: a chicken wing), but anything larger gives him serious diarrhea, and thats feeding raw unenhanced poultry. I've tried chicken and turkey and duck....unfortunetly for me Apollo LOVES poultry. Keeps life interesting....

I am having a terrible time finding the right kibble for Cruiser. I've had four other OEM's and a couple of Saints, a Rotti and a Shepherd and none had food issues. It's always something new with each dog! He came from the breeder on Hills, transitioned to Innova- did well for 3 weeks then the insane scratching began so we moved to BB with better results but soft stools, Wellness Core basics-too rich again diarrhea, then on to BB Basics-back to scratching (sweet potatos cause yeast), now TOW Bison-was doing well until Sunday when he decided to devour rabbit poo in the yard and again upset his stomach. So we are on rice & boiled hamburger until his stomach gets back in the groove, will begin slowly adding TOW. I like TOW but hate that I have to constantly be on guard for recalls, I hate Hate Hate Diamond Foods Processing. They are not pet friendly and are only money focused. I tried my best to avoid anything processed by them.
