Increased Aggression in our 2yr old Female Fila! Attacked our new puppy! PLZ HELP!!

Hello Everyone!

My boyfriend and I have a 2 year old female fila brasiliero mastiff, Molly, she is sweet and friendly (except to intruders lol). She has an attitude sometimes but nothing has become an issue untill now...

I should afirst say that this is the 150 pound dog that got bossed around by my 7 pound female pekingese, Gia. I gave the peke to my mom since she recently lost her dog and wanted some company :) Anyway, we NEVER had any problems with Gia and Molly, except with food. But even that calmed down over time. They were both food aggressive, i guess eventually Molly just gave up and let the lil dog be the boss. She would let her steal toys away, or a treat.. anything. After a couple months together I never worried about leaving them alone.

We just got a new puppy (a male fila, Maka, 8 1/2 weeks old) abt 3 weeks ago. He is not food aggressive whatsoever, and I constantly mess with his food, treats, toys so he knows its ok to share. Molly seemed extremely wary of him for some reason... She is not usually aggressive to other dogs unless they are in her space.. We introduced them in a neutral place, and she just wasnt having it.. She just kinda watched him like she wanted to kill him. She may be jealous but we give her more attention to make up for it.. Last week, she got him really good over food someone dropped. He had a gash on his nose and the back of his neck, and swelling. Took him to the vet, hes fine. But since then, shes attacked him at least 3 times over food or if hes pestering her... He just wants to play...

My question is: I am worried that she may be jealous, or her aggression is increasing, every time we scold her she gives me "the look".. Im not sure if she just gets in the zone and doesnt realize it.. but I want to know how to correct that before she looses control!

Please help, any advice is welcome and thank you in advance!!!!

I would start by feeding them 1 at a time. She could very well kill that pup. Dont let them feed together till he's at least big enough to defend himself, or they get along.

There are some folks here that are very good at training. I'm sure they can offer more solid advice than me. I woul watch the scolding with a fila depending on your definition of scolding. I try to just stop the bad action and get her to sit or stare at me. Then give her praise for the good action.

But again, dont follow my rambling alone. hahaha. Some folks will give you some solid advice here

I try to get her out of her zone. If I see it, I tell her to leave it. She usually does and that works pretty well, when they fight all I have to do is say her name and she snaps out. Usually. once she realizes what she did, she immediately knows she did wrong. Shell go mope or go outside. I think the problem is my bf, hes had her since she.was a.baby. she listens to him but shell test him first to.see if hes serious and half the time he lets her do whatever. Which is dangerous for all of us. I need to train him to be consistent w her. haha!

Thank you for your advice, and sorry for bad spelling im on my phone.
