K9 Show Stopper

Mooshi's Mummy

Has anyone tried this? I cant seem to find a supplier in the UK but will pay for shipping from the US if you think its worth it. Show season is fast approaching for me and Mooshi's britches are not making an appearance! K9 Show Stopper has been recommended to me by an American friend (Mooshi's handler).

Hm, I've never used it, but Apollo's breeder highly recommends Puppy Gold which is made by the same company for young pups that may need extra nutrients.

I HAVE been added some extra Biotin to Apollo's diet this last month in an attempt to encourage his skin and coat to cope with this screwy shed/grow season....

This stuff is hard to get a hold of if you don't have a distrubutor that has dealt with the customs side of things. We have 2 suppliers here in Canada or otherwise we have to order from the US and it isn't cheap. It does work for giving a nice coat and puts a few extra pounds on a dog that drops weight when in heat or females are in heat. The other option might be to try the Satin balls as I hear that can work as well but not sure what it might do for the coat as show stopper is a lot of the good fatty stuff ;)

If you have trouble getting it you may be able to duplicate the affect by combining a biotin supplement with some fat and whole (cooked) eggs and a good quality salmon oil and maybe an Evening Primose Oil.

Here in the US I'd tell you to hit your local hippy health food store, cause they'd have the biotin supplements, salmon oil and primrose oil, all human grade. Not sure where to tell you to look locally :/

Crossing fingers for you! Apollo's britches never looked as bad as Mooshi's, but I swear his winter coat is growing in funky, he's got spots on his thighs were the coat is growing in darker! Never mind that he's STILL shedding!

We use puppy gold on the puppies as well and have no complaints except the price of the damn stuff :(

Yah, its not cheap, donno where you looked, but I DID find it a bit cheaper on Amazon, bought by the 15lb bag. We used it with Arty too when we got him as he had some digestive issues when we first got him and I was worried about him getting enough vitamins etc.

Its made by the same people as the Show Stopper, so you're as likely to have luck with one as the other :/ but it might be worth keeping an eye out for.

Puppy gold I am told after two isn't much good and most switch to one of their other products. Amazon up here doesn't sell it as it would have to come from a supplier in the US and customs has some strict rules about it. There are two suppliers here in Canada and I think it costs me about 72.00 for a 4lb container (which thank god lasts longer now that we have fewer puppies) but at 3 full scoops a day and 3 puppies currently on it, it goes fast. Show stopper is a little cheaper.

uhuh lol

On Apollo's breeders advice we didn't give it to him regularly after 10 weeks of age (when we got him) but she suggested using it when he went through his "I don't wanna eat" stages as a typical TM puppy, and I do have to say he'd usually happily lap up some broth and Puppy Gold even when he'd barely eat otherwise. And it made me feel better that he was getting SOMETHING when he'd decide to barely eat for more than a day!

Once he was switched to raw I stopped offering it completely, but then I've never been shy about feeding him fatty cuts, and eggs, and the like.

I have used puppy gold and show stopper... good stuff. just like with food i get it in bulk (the bags not the buckets)..the stuff is great on some dogs and not so great on others.. they def. bulk up with extra fat on the show stopper so more excersice is required. my dogs love raw but happen to hate satin balls i tried so many diff recipes and for some reason they hate the stuff. I use http://www.k9power.com/k9-show-stopper.html but I buy over the phone with the manager to work out a better deal. If you need any help getting some to you let me know and ill try and help ya out.

If your dogs will eat raw just feed them the peices individually instead of mixed up. Easier that way anyway IMO. Thats what I do with Apollo, he gets eggs here, a bite of suet there....though I've been mashing the hardboiled eggs (to ensure no biotin loss which happens in raw eggs) with the boitin supplement and a probiotic.

Not that I have a problem with Showstopper, but since it looks like MM,d have trouble getting over there....
