Khan doing better but a PITA!

Well little Khan has recovered from his injuries and is putting on weight but he is near uncontrollable. Before I sold him he was trained to heel, sit and be calm. Oh and you could hand feed him with no problems. Now he jerks the leash around, will only sit if you yell at him, goes nuts if you have food and will nearly rip your hand off for a treat. He has also picked fights with Crusher. He tried with Odi and that was a mistake for him because Odi just thumped him and pinned him to the ground with his mouth around his whole head. Jade has set him straight a few times too. Poor big ole Crusher does not want to fight and tried to play him off.

I got him weighed yesterday and he is 87 lbs and Crusher is 125 lbs. Today I put a prong collar on him and was able to get control of him but only after a dozen hard corrections. It's going to be a lot of work to get him ready for a new home again.

How horrible that the person who bought him couldn't keep up with what you started. I wish my girls had come with some started training.

He kept me up half the night last night because there was a flying squirrel and and owl outside the bedroom window. Finally I just opened the back door and everyone went out and disturbed the neighborhood at 3AM.

Love that Odi and Jade are helping with your re-training efforts!
:)

I'm confident you'll get him turned back around in no time.

Man he frustrates me so much but I am seeing some improvement. Today he did not try to take Jade and Odi's food and didn't try to knock the food bowls from my hands as I served them. I'm just going to have to treat him like a new dog. Oh also all 4 Boerboels were playing out back late yesterday and the play got very rough but he did not become aggressive and actually walked away from the action. This is a big thing for him. I have some video of a couple days ago where you can see he is borderline aggressive. It is on FB so I need to up it to you tube still.

I felt this was appropriate, considering that you're seeing improvement. And the fact that I'm a Star Trek nerd.
