Does anyone have any experience with any CC breeders in the PA/WV/DC/VA/NC area? I can make it to NYC/surrounding areas in about 6hrs w few stops, but that's just adults/stopping for coffee (no dogs, so obviously traveling that distance with a dog would take longer, which isn't a problem at all).
My SO wants a Tosa (humph, good luck), and we've started looking; our 'baby' (rescued at 10 mos, now 5 yrs old) is half Tosa, half Boxer.
It seems that EM breeders are a dime a dozen around here, and with a lot of landlords/homeowners ins banning 'pits,' EMs have become the new stand-in. Not a fan of that, since it's led to some less than desirable breeding (and 'I need to get rid of my dog today, $1500 OBO' posts on CL, since people don't do research!)
I know Z has several years still in her, however ever since she came into our lives, we couldn't imagine ourselves without at least one Mastiff. (We have a shelter mutt...pit/lab/border collie/who knows, that is awesome, quirky, hilarious, but definitely different than our Mastiff).
Just doing some research for now, since like I said, we can't imagine our lives without a loveable, giant, drooling, slobbery lap dog.
And, I've only heard of maybe two Tosa breeders, neither of which are geographically close. It just seems...easier, to go with a breed that is somewhat more common. Just thinking out loud.
