My poor Sacci is sick :-(

My sweet baby hasn't eaten in two days and has vomited 3 times today. She's going to the vet tomorrow! It's so hard to see my perky, lovable puppy feeling so badly! It breaks my heart!

Poor Sacci. Please keep us posted. Has she been drinking and potting normally? Is she currently on meds?

OMG! I know what this feels like, when I went back to work, Bailey stopped eating and lost almost 10 pounds. I was so scared. Has there been a life disruption like that? Any new houseplants? Could she have gotten into any chemicals? Has she had any new toys that she could have swallowed part of? Do you give her cooked bones? Our girl threw up after chewing on some soup bones.

Will she eat some bone broth? My girl would eat from my hand a little bit before I went to work, but then wouldn't eat again until I was home at night. They can be so sensitive to changes in schedule.

I'm praying that your baby is better soon. Hugs to both of you.

Thanks for the prayers, everyone. As far as I know, there hasn't been anything different. We did find a dead possum in the yard several days ago and my husband said he found some of its skin yesterday. He thinks that may have made her sick. Other than that, I don't know what it could be. I'll let y'all know what the vet says.

Now Sacci has bloody diarrhea. We just realized this morning that Sacci has been going into the barn. I'm afraid she may have eaten ant poison. My husband is afraid she has parvo because we are late on her shots (because of my cancer recovery). But she hasn't been exposed to any other dogs besides our own. Whatever it is, I'm sad and worried and can't wait to take her to the vet! Her appointment is at 1:45. Seems so long to wait!

:( oh that's so bad :( How long ago was she into the barn? I know that most poisoning cases would give visible symptoms in a matter of hours....

It's parvo. I am just so ANGRY at myself! Because I was sick, I put off getting her shots that could have kept her safe. To make matters worse, we just got a 5-week old puppy that has now been exposed. Sometimes life really sucks..

Sorry to hear. Even if there are no exposure to infected dogs, there is still a chance she got it from the yard from infected feces from coyotes. Parvo also lives in the ground for some time.

Sometimes even if the dog gets the vaccination, they still end up getting parvo.

At least she is getting vet care now. Keep us posted.

I'm so sorry to hear about your girl. Don't beat yourself up about it, sometimes even when you do everything you can to keep them safe, things happen. Please do keep us updated.

I gave Sacci her IV fluids and anti-nausea medication, got her all settled in her kennel, and then sanitized the floors with bleach to hopefully minimize the exposure to the new puppy. He is isolated in my daughter's room, where Sacci isn't allowed. I really believe he exposed Sacci in the first place.

Sacci is at home now? They didn't keep her overnight?
She's a strong girl, I hope she'll be fine - don't blame yourself, it can happen with all vaccinations up to date - i've seen it. :(

Yes, the vet said as long as we were comfortable giving her the IV, she'd probably do better at home. She hasn't vomited since early this morning and has been drinking water on her own, so the vet was very optimistic.

this is very good news indeed, the most important part is to prevent dehydration - and bleaching the area really helps. She's a strong girl, she'll be fine. :)

Is the 5 wks puppy ok?
