New Dog owner with questions about feeding. :)

Hello. We took him to the vet and got some x-rays done. He doesn't show any sign of hip dysplasia
at all but he does have PANO. The vet gave us some pain meds for him to take.

The vet recommended that we take him off puppy food and onto adult food since he is growing really fast hence the PANO. So I have decided to go ahead and buy Wellness Core Large Breed for him. It should make the transition very easy for him since he is already eating wellness puppy food. :)

The Wellness Core formulas run a bit high on the calcium side. Nthey list it as "not more than" (rather than "minimum") so its PROBLY fine, but where he's already dealing with Pano I don't know that I'd want to push it were he mine. You may just want to stick with the adult version of what you were feeding, which isn't grain free, but has better calcium/phos numbers (which is the large portion of what controls bone growth).

I think there was some benefit for those with Pano to take extra Vitamin C... if I remember things I've read on other threads.... might be worth looking into.

I'd trust Ruth's knowledge & experience, too. :)
