New to forum! what am I?!

Hello! I just found out about this forum and I thought it would be a good place to find out what breed my dog is. His name is trooper. He is estimated to be 10 or 11 months old. We found him in the desert 5 to 10 miles away from anywhere but my husband told me there was a breeder known for dumping puppies in trashcans and what not a few miles from our location. He was probably about 2 months old at the time. I thought he looked alot like a tosa inu but I want lots of opinions!

Well he certainly is a nice looking pooch. Looks thick & mastiff like, but have no idea about Tosa's. Someone will chime in who has a clue.

I like how hubby worked the pooch in LOL--middle of the desert, just happens to be a puppy dumper a few miles away better take him home...

Lol it was about 11 o'clock at night and we were driving down a road in the middle of nowhere. I spotted him just barely from the headlights. A lot of dog fighting goes on around here, and the breeder he was talking about pretty much just strives for the largest dog. it's ashame. So I wouldn't be surprised if the pup was dumped. Either way he would of been coyote dinner if I hadn't spotted him. Husband didn't believe me until I made him turn around lol.

That was definitely my first guess until I saw tosas today. I'm sure he's got some pit in him. The crown of his head resembles them a lot in person. He won't sit still for pictures unless he's being pet. -_- lol

I can't wrap my head around it either. He really is my dream dog and I just can't believe he came to me under the circumstances.

Some of those face on shots remind me of a Dogue de Bordeaux . He's a handsome puppy!

I was going to say he reminds me of jade as well. Maybe a pit boerboel?

Cute dog! I am in the same boat - we adopted our pup when he was around 4 or 5 months old. When he was brought to the rescue center they thought he was a pure bred pit bull - but it definitely looks like he has some mastiff in him. Anyone have any ideas what his breed could be? I've also thought Tosa, or maybe a Mastiff/Rott mix?

That looks like a boerboel to me. The feet particularly Is he stubborn?

I'm going to guess that he's Boerboel x something else ? Not sure what that something else is, maybe pit if there's alot of fighting going on in your area.

Either way he's a very handsome fella thanks for giving him a good home
