Odin "playing" outside

Here's my Odin playing outside!! Well I'm trying to get him to play, it ended up turning into a photo shoot because he only wants to play in the house and he is getting to big. I have to make him play ball outside, I have to stand by the stairs so he won't quit and bring the ball upstairs. ;) he is such a silly boy, does anyone else's dog do that? He is getting so big and doing so well, I wish I had a play mate for him....

YES! My dogs only want to play inside. When in the living room they get zoomies and run and chase each other like maniacs. Shoo them outside when the zoomies start and they just sit there looking at me. AND, the mastiff won't play fetch. The only thing she will run after is the flirt pole and my little girl Pomeranian who really doesn't want to play with her. The mastiff and the boy pom are the ones that play chase but I feel bad that Emma doesn't have someone her own size to play with and wrestle with.

Thank you for the compliments, he is a handsome boy.

Dpenning, yes that is exactly what Odin does, gets all amped up in the house then i'll take him out and he looks at me like I'm nuts..... .lol..At least Emma has a playmate, my boy doesn't have anyone but my cat..... and she doesn't appreciate that at all... He does have a couple friends he plays with when we go on walks, only through the fence though, but it's something. I would love to get another bigger dog but the ol ball and chain isn't down with that....

I have the opposite problem...Zoe only wants to play ball outside...she rarely will play anything inside unless she gets to wrestle with us. We really don't encourage wrestling as she uses her mouth...certainly not hard but not something we endorse. Now the outside play is that we have no yard so everything is on a long leash around our townhouse. It just gets old having to always be on the lookout for distractions. We do have a small fenced in patio but Zoe will not go out there by herself. She will just stand at the door & cry. Rascal, I swear!

danielleconn, oh gees, that would be frustrating not being able to let her run when you know that's all she wants to do..... If you lived close we would let you use our backyard =-), it's not huge but it's something.... Then both our problems would be solved, your Zoe would have a secure place to run around and be goofy in and my boy would have a play mate.... Win win....lol

Yeah exactly that would be perfect! Odin would probably be more interested in ball just chasing Zoe! Her best playmate is my sisters boxer an hour and a half away...we don't get to see them as often as we would like! Even then, he is on an invisible fence & Zoe is just loose, she does well staying close by but I can't relax while we are there. Yeah but if I throw the ball inside the house...she looks at it, looks at me like why the heck did you put it over there?!? I wish there were more members on here from North Carolina, but I don't think there are many.
