I just wanted to start this thread in hopes that I can get some assistance in locating Mastiff's in need of rescue. I am from Ontario Canada. Sudbury Ontario to be specific and I check the internet daily for Mastiff's in need of a forever home. I would like gear my focus towards rescues more then anything. The reason for that is not everyone is "cut out" to be Mastiff owners. Whether it is at all or after purchasing one to find our later that it wasn't as "fun" as they thought it would be. I am by no means a millionaire to be able to run out and scoop them all up and bring them home and love them forever... but I will rescue and do rescue and am very very diligent with their health and safety. They will visit the vet regularly for check ups and I am a stay at home Mastiff mom so they are never alone. If I go anywhere I take my babies with me. I will never allow my babies to ever see the inside of a kennel. If I cant bring my dogs I dont go. If they are not welcome then I decline on my invite. I do this and have done it a lot. This rescue WILL BE with me forever and NEVER re-homed.
Anyway my point is if anyone knows of/reads about / or hears about anyone in my area that (I cant believe I am typing this) doesn't want their Mastiff please let me know. The boys would love another brother or sister. I am sure Marley would love another to look out for her.

That is wonderful... if anyone contacts us about not being able to keep their mastiffs you will be first in my mind. Are any mastiff breeds alright or do you have a preference?

Thank you for keeping me in mind for sure ! :D
I am open to any and all Mastiff's! It doesn't matter female or male and doesn't matter what type of gentle giant, just knowing that I am helping them and giving them what they rightfully deserve and that is a chance to live life is all I need. :)

I saw a posting this morning for an EM that is looking for a home in Ontario from a rescue that we have worked with before that I thought you might be interested in checking out. It doesn't say if she is still available and she is a little nervous of men but does warm up.

One of my contacts in animal rescue is looking for a foster or permanent home for a mastiff cross. They need someone who is experienced with large dogs. The dog is currently in Montreal, but can be transported depending on location.

I just read Murray's post.

For anyone who wants to foster a Mastiff please contact rescue groups in your area, as well as Mastiff rescue groups in the province. Both are always looking for foster homes. Many breed specific rescue groups will transport dogs.

Sharyn, I spoke to a guy today (actually the apartment complex hired his plumbing co) and he and his wife foster for Great Plains Mastiff Rescue. I told him about your mastiff and he said to email his wife, Dawn Cook, and she may be able to help you out. dcook417@gmail.com Hope this helps...

Real nice guy and they currently have 3 EM's.

It just so interesting to me that the folks who love mastiffs, care this much. for a long time i thought me and my wife were nuts. turns out there is a whole lot of us full of a ton of love ready to give it away. really keeps me going. thanks murray
