This morning I picked up 60 lbs of chicken PLUS a full size, working chest freezer. Total cost for both was $50.

The lady I got the freezer from then tipped me off to this butcher who does 10 pound bags of really. meaty beef and pork rib/neck bones for $2/bag. So, I grabbed 10 bags.

Lastly, the maintenance guy at my work is an avid hunter and asked if I wanted his last years meat. He's gonna take a look at everything he has and bring me the stuff he'd otherwise throw out.

Feeling pretty good about my finds right now. ☺*

The 60 pounds of chicken and freezer were a great Craigslist find.

The cost of living CAN be astronomical, but I'm pretty thrifty and don't mind hunting for a good deal.

I'm with you. I make bargain shopping a part time job when I'm looking for something specific. B thinks I'm nuts, all the time I spend searching for the best deals. Then when I get something a hundred dollars under the average listed price he shuts up.

Yah, thats why I keep the craigslist ad running here too. Sometimes I don't get much, but when I do, its TOTALLY worth it.

Yep I also got a deep chest freezer for dogs and now I save $ buying in bulk dog food local butcher . Chicken necks car oases big dog bones cow. Mince etc well worth the running cost even for the convenience of it .
