Lettie, Matt, and I were headed home from his parents house last night. We pulled out onto the main road with about 1/2 mile until the next car (PLENTY of room). We didn’t realize that car was literally going about 100 mph in a 45 mph zone. The car came up behind us insanely fast and aggressively. Then he forced us into the other lane and passed on the shoulder on the right. Matt was pissed, he turned into the gas station and the idiot driver saw us turning and whipped into the gas station in front of us. The idiot pulled up to a pump and Matt pulled up in front of him to see what his deal was.
The idiot stormed out of his car, turned around to grab a gun from his car, showed us the gun, then tucked it into the back of his jeans and ran up to the passengers side of the car (where I was). The started SCREAMING at us that we were idiots and “f*** you” over and over. He was inches from my face yelling. I told the guy his breath smelled like shitty booze then he really got mad. I ended up just sick of smelling him and rolled up my window.
When the guy first approached, Lettie got up and watched. She waited, decided this guy was up to no good, then let him know it. I held her collar while she barked, snarled and snapped a few inches from his face. She didn’t back down until I rolled up my window and he walked away. I’ve read about dogs who talk a big game then back down. I just found out, in a real situation, my girl has my back. I always wondered what she would do if something like that happened. I’m just so happy she did exactly what she was supposed to do. I was also very impressed that she took a minute to assess the situation before going into full protection mode. She got extra kisses and love last night. Such a good girl
