Summer vacation with dog, need advice with this heat

I posted this in the regular forum too, but I am just trying to get advice before we leave.

Planned to take Zola with us on vacation this weekend to Utah, where its still pretty warm. Originally it was supposed to be partly cloudy and slightly cooler all weekend, now its looking like its sunny and around 90-100. I know she gets hot just walking around the corner in the morning, but what else can I do to keep her cool? Its only a quick trip, friday night and coming home sunday.

I was thinking about a nice walk early in the morning around town, and possibly playing in the river during the day to keep her cool, then just staying inside the hotel and relaxing until night. Obviously any resturants that are dog friendly are ones with patios, and with it still being in the 80s-possibly 90s at night, is it ok to be sitting with her outside to eat? I was planning on grabbing dinner after the sun goes down around 8-9. I do have a cooling vest for her (its the roughwear jacket you soak in water and then put on them, and as it evaporates it keeps their back cool) But we were going to try to get lunch on sunday before we leave in the small town we are staying in, and im thinking that might be to hot....

I'm so worried about trying to eat outside with her, and her getting too hot, but theres not a lot of options for making food in the room as they don't even have a microwave. I considered not taking her and leaving her home instead, but I think she could have fun if I just approach the heat in the right way with her.

Has anyone gone on any summer vacations? How do you deal with eating outside and the dogs in the heat?

I live in AZ and I would only eat outside at a restaurant with mine if it had a misting system. Or I had some way to mist them off. Otherwise, I would just keep them at home. They really don't go outside much in the summer except to go to the bathroom.

I live in So Cal and travel back and forth to our place in Topock Az with my CC girls.
As long as they have a place to get cool they can stand the heat for short periods of time.
You kind of need to keep your dogs needs and health in mind to include them in your activities.
If it is very hot out it is probably not a good idea to linger on the veranda and take a leisurely lunch with before and after cocktails, but eat at a normal pace and get back into the air conditioned car.
I cruise around the desert with my girls and I keep cold water for them and me in the ice chest.
Last time out we had a power outage that lasted from 4 pm till 2 am so no AC in the house, they did ok but about 10 pm we did jump in the truck and take a ride in air conditioned comfort.
Remember the ground will be very hot and very uncomfortable for them to walk on so get them off the concrete and asphalt as quickly as possible.

Like we said before. Use common sense. Order pizza or something and stay in the cool room.

Summer has been tough. I try walking barefooted on the pavement before we go anywhere. If it's too hot for me. It's too hot for them. I got a cooling pad, and Max only puts his face on it. I use cold water soaked towel when we come in from a night time walk. Getting in the car unless it's been pre-cooled overheats him in just a few minutes. We take ice for eating on the way and hydration.

I took Denna on what I thought was an early-enough (cool) morning walk on asphalt in the sunshine when she was <1yr old (same Eastern WA location as mentioned on your other post, but triple digit year)... we kept to the shade as much as possible... and she STILL ended up with burns on her pads!!! I was mortified I had failed her!!!

We put cream on it and then bought some booties for her to wear. It healed fine (eventually).
Now that she's older, her pads are much tougher, but we still are very careful around hot pavement.
