I am going to try to get my dog his therapy dog title I was wondering if anyone has taken the temperament test and if so what did it include?

I did the Temperament Testing with Sadie a few weeks ago. Here is a video of the test

Wow, what a great video of the test. Your dog did great. I have been reading all I can find on this test to see if there is an age restriction to take it and can't find one. Could you tell me at what age your dog took it?

That is not my dog. It is just a random video from YouTube. Sadie and I took the test in the beginning of this month. Sadie turned 2 in January. Like Ruth said, if it is being done by ATTS, minimum testing age is 18 mos.

Stage the test in different environments with different people at different times of the day and in different weather climates.

Start this immediately don't wait for the big day to happen start now so you can train out any issues you might see.

Good Luck

Looks a little tall and slender that's why I thought it could be a Dane x BB.

I think from everything that I seen in the video. The only thing I might really have to work on is where the guy comes out yelling at them and the dog protects. He has never been in any situation where everyone has not been nice to him. He is only 11 months so his attitude could even change between now and then on that, but I would like him just to stay calm even in that situation.

That's cool!

Denna and I did the Canine Good Citizen test - which they say is also an intro to Delta Society's Pet Assisted Therapy test... but it's only half of that. No walking on strange surfaces, no threats. And, in the CGC, it's a handler & dog test... that one looked like the handler was just a quiet guide through the process, not much for encouragement - other than touching the umbrella. Didn't hear a lot of spoken commands or praise, which they welcome in the CGC.

The ATTS specifically forbids handler interaction with the dog actually. You can't give commnds, not even say "good dog". You're just there to guide the dog from step to step.

Yes the CGC is a good start and I plan on doing the cgca this month. I want to get my pup his therapy dog title because I think he would actually enjoy doing much more than he does all the obedience type stuff that I have had him doing

I was wondering about the threat as well. Sadie had never been in a situation like that, but she did great. She reacted exactly like I had hoped. Just observing the guy at first and then stepping in front of me and barking at him as he was "charging" us. I was very pleased.

Darkwater Boerboels breeds only Boerboels not crosses, Lilly may have been spayed early but I am not sure, that would account for the longer legs. But if you look at Odi his legs are even longer than Lilly's.

I was really impressed with the way this BB took the test. She did a great job. I hope mine do as well.
