Hi! Our family has our fist dog, and she is an EM named Sadie. We are really excited to have her! The posts here have been so helpful over the past few weeks.
Sadie is having some problems with diarrhea lately. She is 18 weeks old, and about a week ago she had really watery diarrhea (at night, all over the crate ) - we did boiled chicken and rice with some yoghurt for two days, and had a stool sample checked, nothing found. She had no movements for those couple of days (I guess the pipes were refilling...), and since then she has alternated between very solid movements and mixes of semi-solid/watery. Since we got her 6 weeks ago we have been feeding her diamond large breed puppy (lamb/rice). I tried to re-introduce that, but if anything she seemed worse. She is back on mainly chicken/rice/yoghurt...
I thought maybe she is having a problem with the lamb, so I picked-up some of the diamond large breed 60+ (since it is chicken-based & seems better for her from reading some posts on the subject), and I plan to try transitioning her to it from the boiled chicken/rice, but her tummy issue isn't really resolving.
Two days before the diarrhea initially hit, we took her to the park, and she did a lot of running on her own (we didn't make her run). Then the day before, we had some friends over and all the kids were running around with her - then BAM! I wonder if we are not letting her sleep enough, or if we are exercising/stressing her too much.
I also noticed that her nose and eyes are a bit runny lately and she is moving in slow motion...
We are planning to try and limit her activity and any excitement for a few days, and introduce the regular food, but I am not confident it will resolve it.
Any suggestions on what we should do for Sadie?
Thanks,
Erik
