I haven't posted to the forum for so long, but wanted to post an update in case anyone has had a similar experience. Back in 2015, my Cane Corso developed swelling over her eye which eventually spread to her head/face. Several veterinarians all gave the same response, that it was an allergic reaction to something.
After 6 months and numerous vet visits and second and third opinions, it turned out she had inflammatory squamous cell carcinoma. She has been on chemo and various medications, but it has finally taken its toll after about a year and she now has hemorrhagic cystitis from the cyclophosphamide. Has anyone had experience with an alternative to cyclophosphamide that is effective for squamous cell carcinoma that I might be able to request from my veterinarian? Thanks.
