Water coming out of his butt???

My mastiff went to the bathroom #2 and nothing but water came out! What is that about? Has he eaten something that is stuck in his stomach? He's still eating but it's been happening since last night...

sounds like he has a virus...if it continues through today you should probably get him to the vet as he can dehydrate, especially if he is a puppy. Instead of feeding him his food, give him a mixture of white potatoes, sweet potatoes and the recipe calls for leeks (but I've done just the potatoes since I never have leeks in the house and it works)for the next day, this will help bind him up, it works better than rice. You can also give him Imodium depending on how much he weighs, for my adult mastiff I give her two pills. Again if it continues for more than a day or so he needs to go to the vet

we use canned pure pumpkin ( not the pie mix but the 100% pure) to bind them up.

I would go to the vet to see why he has diarrhea. Also make sure he is getting plenty of water as he will become dehydrated especially if you give him Imodium.

Typically with GI obstructions there is vomiting. Is your EM vomiting? More than likely he ate something he shouldn't have (trash, dead squirrel, cat poop, etc) and now has a bacterial imbalance in his stomach. Hopefully he doesn't cause enough irritation to his GI tract from diarrhea to cause him to have bloody diarrhea. If that's the case, go to the vet, he will need antibiotics. Depending on his vaccination history and age, the big P may have to be a consideration. That is also associated with vomiting. I always recommend a 24 hour fast for vomiting or diarrhea and when you start feeding again (24 hours after the last time he ate), feed a bland diet like boiled chicken and rice or boiled hamburger and rice. Probiotics are also very very helpful. Lots of people like yogurt, but most dogs are lactose intolerant, so I would reach for doggy formulated probiotics, you can pick those up at most pet stores. Hope this helps, and good luck!
