Weirdo...

Max has been acting weird for a few days. In the morning, after he eats and does his business, while I'm hanging out checking email and drinking my coffee...he picks up a stuffed animal and wanders around the house whining and crying. It almost looks like he's pacing. Then he makes a pile of stuffed toys at my feet and after about 20 minutes, he settles down and lays on the pile.

Anxiety that I'm leaving soon? Herding behavior because the kids aren't up?

He's never seemed to have an issue with anxiety because we make it fun and treat time to go in the crate and he is almost never left for more than 4 hours at a time. I spend an entire hour at home during my lunch break. I don't think he's unhappy he just looks rediculous and I've tried to ignore the whine/cry as to not reinforce the behavior. Any ideas?

Sounds like anxiety/stress. Are you able to exercise him again while not acknowledging the whining?

The only time Titan whines is when he has to go potty really bad, he will whine and pace.

When Cruiser was younger and we had this sort of issue, I started giving him a paper cup with peanut butter smeared inside of it as I walked out the door. He got so engrossed in getting all of it out of the cup, he didn't notice me leave. As he matured, it wasn't really needed but I still on occasion give him the little cup because he loves it so much! Eventually he will strain his tongue :lolbangtable:
