  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Welcome Odinson!

I am struggling to decide if I seperate them tomorrow or allow her and Jade and Dozer to be together. I cleaned up one of my kennels and put a lightbulb heater in a dog house with a mudflap door on it. It is 35 outside now but 60 in the dog house in just 15 minutes. Going to go check the temp in a few minutes (been 45 minutes). He was raising unholy hell when I tried him for 10 minutes. But when I crated him earlier today so i could shower he barked for a little bit then calmed down. Maybe he just needs more time. Might crate him inside then come home for lunch to let him out. It is supposed to be in the 20s and lower this week.

He loves grumpy Duncan and does all he can to get close to him. So they shared a Wubba together.

On the way up the mountain from LAX Airport. Notice his form and fill here and go back to the more recent ones. He is already getting some muscle on him.

Those were great! In the video of him following Dozer, I swear Jade looked like a statue-- she was really transfixed by something beyond the fence...

And the caption of "She's behind me, isn't she?" cracked me up, LOL...

I can see how proud you are of him already. :) He looks like a very confident pup!

Thanks all. He is very different from Jade, like another breed right now. I actually got him to sit up for a treat with no support, (he is 9 weeks old btw) Jade wouldn't do it until around 7 months. He does not jump or start from noises or things like Jade did. Jade is very guardy and yes she was watching someone new on the other side of the fence. But he is not potty training well yet and Jade was trained at 9 weeks. She never made a piddle in the house. He has made a dozen. Might be male vs female, don't know yet he is just a baby, not a pup, baby.

Congrats Mike. You're giving me puppy fever. What breed is he? This is in the Boerboel section, but I don't know enough about them to know if they come in brindle. I feel like I've only seen fawn.

He is a Boerboel From the Mizpahs of Africa Line. His color is called Ultra Brindle (other breeds call it Reverse Brindle). This line is typically not as square as the other lines, but it is based on and follows the standard of the original Boerboel with no or very little Ysterberg in them. He will still get big and a little square but will be more like a Rhodesian Ridgeback than a Bullmastiff.

Same here, i missed it as well. He is one gorgious little pup for sure.

Could i just ask if all your dogs are boerboels? And is that a black Boerboel i can see there? Your a very lucky man for sure.

Nope, my black dogs are purebred mutts. RottenChows. If they were black Boerboels they would still be mutts. Odi and Jade are Boerboels.

I can see that you have your hands full with those guys, but I take it that you don't get bothered by burglars?

Could i ask how you came by the Chow/Rottweiler cross dogs? Its not a cross i have heard of before and how do the rot/chow compare with Jade? Are there big differences?

I found the father at a petshop and fell in love with him. Then we searched for a female and one actually found us while we were discussing it at the Subway Sandwich shop. I do not recommend this breed for a novice dog person though. They are hard dogs and have bad DA and HA, just call them aggressive. They have mellowed out the past 5 years but I still keep a good eye on them around anything. They have very powerful jaws with some seemingly overly large teeth.

Jade is very smart and is actually more guardy than the R/Cs but they have gone a little soft the past few years. Jade outweighs them by about 25/30 lbs. In their prime there was no doubt in my mind that my home was protected. Even now I would say if Jade failed for some reason these old dudes would still take care of things. I don't see a way to compare them though, they are so different in so many ways.
