I just got my neapolitan mastiff about a month ago. At first i was feeding him instinct raw boost. Just learned its too high in protein... ive
Tried a few different large breed puppy brands, ive had to flush his
System by feeding rice n burger for a week... what is the best quality dry food for him that i should feed. He is 6 months old, 95Ibs and
Imported from hungary.
Your input is much appreciated

Welcome aboard to you and Ogi~

Try Acana Regionals, Earthborn Holistics Grain Free, Taste of the Wild Grain Free or Fromm's. Acana is made in Canada.

You can feed your pup Large Breed Adult food, they do not necessarily need to eat puppy food due to the high levels of calcium in the puppy food.

Mastiffs continue to grow until 2-3 years of age. Slow and steady growth is key for a healthy mastiff.

Do you have pics of Ogi?

Do not feed puppy food ever to a mastiff. Its bad for them. Orijen is excellent but expensive. I use Natures Domain grain free. It comes in salmon, turkey, or beef. Good stats and inexpensive.

Everyone talks about dry food, my boy gets a variety, I have always done this, some dry food (good quality) pasta sometimes, chicken necks, some table leftovers, vegetables, salad, and a little bit of milk at the end. Bones regularly as well. I think about my favourite food and would I want to eat it every day, nuh.

Why is puppy food so bad? Is it the calcium?

i fed my boy giant breed puppy for a little while. i don't know if you can get it there but there is a brand of food in Australia called Royal cannin and it even does breed specific food so you can get giant breed puppy mastiff in the royal cannin brand and it is specifically designed for the growth requirements of a growing mastiff pup

Puppy food is not necessarily bad. You just need to watch the numbers. Orijen Large Breed Puppy is probably the best you can get out there but if your dog is allergic to chicken, then forget it!
