I was wondering if anybody can remember about what age their mail English mastiff head fully matured I have a nine-month-old puppy and his head still has not fully matured. I was trying to think back to when my other male head fully matured but I can't remember any help would be appreciated

I can't say when they fully mature as I think Kryten's head is still growing ( he's 2) but it didn't start to broaden until after he turned 1.

Thanks for both of your input. My other males head seemed to always be big but my new 9 month old puppy has a different type of head and I can't wait for it to get wide. I just like the look.

I am asking really about the skull. My male puppy english mastiff puppy still has a puppy head and I was wondering at what age it gets mature

A couple years, more on some lines for the skull to fully form
Neutering too young can affect the skull shape greatly as well as skeletal structure. I personally don't recommend neutering prior to 18 mos

I don't plan on neutering him at all. I am in the process of trying to get him his rally novice title and obedience novice. He has already got his CGC . I also would like to show him for conformation but I am not sure how he will do with him not looking full grown yet . I have him entered in a show at the end of the month and if you have ever done this I for sure can take some advise on how to prep him.

First things first ...

Skull maturation ... at the back of the skull is a small knot of sorts. When that knot flattens out, his skull is done growing.

Rally and obedience ... sounds GREAT! Regarding conformation, he'll be judged against others his same age, and then, if he does well there, he'll be judged against other non-champion males (it's rare to have many males that are older than two that are entered in shows but aren't yet CHs, so, most likely, this will be against a selection of younger males). Lots of people show their not-yet-a-year-old Mastiffs and have fun doing it!

Good luck to you (and him)!

Thanks for the information. This will be his first conformation show and I would like him to be able to achieve a champion status over time. I am really doing the rally novice , CGC , and obedience just to spend time with him and keep him social to other animals and people. Of course also so he will listen to me when I give him a command. Well in mastiff command time any way... He is smarter than my other male that I owned and picks up commands pretty quick but he does like to do what he likes to do when he wants to do it...
