Hi
I'm new to the forum! We have a 7 year old english mastiff whose been really upset since about 3am this morning :(
She's had issues with diet, hay fever, a bit of a lemon but a beautiful soul. We have the diet, hay fever under control but this morning she's been so upset, just crying constantly.. My mum was staying at our house and she was up and down with her.. we took her to the vet about 2 hours ago just to make sure she was alright, we thought she might have been constipated because she's not wanting to lay down, doing circles and just standing there.

The vet checked her chest, tummy, temp, all the usual things and she's essentially "fine" except i'm her human and somethings not right :(
She's eating fine, drinking fine, she's pee'd and poop'd .. the vet thought maybe she's pulled a muscle in her back/back legs and it's just sore so we have some pain relief.

I'm just wondering if maybe she's starting to get arthritis ? we keep her in good shape, she was 58kg at the vet this morning and she goes for walks or to the park most days.

it's tugging at my heart to hear her so sad..

Did you have the vet run a full blood panel? Was there any area of sensitivity throughout the stomach? If she was circling, I'd think bowel, something stuck, perhaps sharp, any chance she got into any chicken bones?

they didn't take bloods.. said to come back in 24-48 hours if she's not any better after the pain relief. we don't give her chicken bones, they get marrow bones but haven't had one for 2 weeks. She said that she couldn't feel anything wrong with her stomach..
she's sleeping now so hopefully when she wakes up she will feel a bit better!
